Pigment ink: EPSON HDX colours
- We print with 11 different pigment inks
- With the aid of violet, the UltraChrome HDX pigments can produce a wide palette of vibrant colours as well as deep, rich black tones and dense shadow areas
- The new Photo Black ink has up to 1.5 times higher pigment concentration compared to previous inks, which provides deeper black tones.
- UltraChrome HDX inks were developed for long durability. Particularly in the yellow range, the weaknesses of the earlier HDR inks were eliminated. Mark McCormick-Goodhart, Director of Aardenburg Imaging and Archives writes: "The yellow was by far the weakest link [for pigment stability]. The new HDX ink set remedies this weakness [...].
- Henry Wilhelm of Wilhelm Imaging Research writes about the new HDX inks: "The data measured so far shows that - depending on the paper used - the new inks offer colour print longevity of up to 200 years, and probably over 400 years for black and white prints. [...] The greater Dmax, the greater colour space and the reduced metamerism from the new Epson UltraChrome HDX pigments represent a major step forward in terms of visual brilliance for both colour and black and white images. [...] The generally better performance of the prints is a significant contribution to photography."
The Proof.de fineart papers:
hahnemühle Photo Rag Pearl 320gr/qm
- The hahnemühle Photo Rag Pearl contains no optical brighteners and represents an outstandingly large colour space.
- The natural white paper with a weight of 320 gr/qm consists of 100% cotton, is free of optical brighteners and is reminiscent of a warm-toned baryta paper. With the large colour space and high colour density, extraordinary colour and black/white nuances are achieved and a 3-dimensionality is reached.
- The paper is certified for digigraphy like our Epson printers
- Wilhelm Imaging Research certifies the paper already with the "old" Epson HDR inks with excellent colour stability
hahnemühle German Etching 310gr/qm
- hahnemühle German Etching is an intaglio paper produced using the traditional circular sieve method.
- The white artist paper made from 100% α-cellulose impresses with its velvety soft feel and fine, distinctly pronounced felt texture. The unique surface texture gives motifs something very special and lets them shine in impressive three-dimensionality and depth. The matt premium inkjet coating guarantees outstanding print results with excellent colour and detail reproduction, deep black and best contrast.
- German Etching is acid and lignin-free and meets the highest requirements for ageing resistance. The high-volume fineart inkjet paper belongs to the most popular media for fineart and art reproductions due to its characteristic feel and surface texture.
- We print on German Etching with our black ink "Matte Black" to achieve even better depth drawing on the paper
hahnemühle Photo Matte Fibre 200gr/qm
