Technical details
FORMAT - as desired up to 1000 mm width and 2400 mm height
Our Roll-Up prints are produced in proof quality with EPSON Ultrachrome HDX inks on the printing system with the most precise colour reproduction on the entire printer market. In addition to cyan, magenta, yellow and black, the printing system has three additional colours: orange, green and violet, which enable an enormous colour gamut, for example for Pantone or HKS colours on the Roll-Up. Your print data is processed on the latest Fiery XF systems and processed including special colours, overprints, trapping etc. Our colour management system processes CMYK, RGB, greyscale and LAB colour spaces exactly as in a proof and passes the data to our printers in the highest print quality. The colour reproduction on the Roll-Up corresponds exactly to your ordered colour space, you can place our Roll-Up in ISOCoatedV2 with two PANTONE special colours directly next to your 6-colour printed image brochure and you will have a precise match of the colours. This makes our Roll-Ups perfect for demanding motifs and photographs or for the display of special colours.
Our Roll-Up print is approximately 30 centimetres longer than the pure Roll-Up motif. Below the motif is a 10 cm high white area, below which you will normally find the job ticket rolled up invisibly in the cassette with important information about the print and the print data, RIP, printer, rendering intent and the printing profiles used. In addition, the UGRA-Fogra media wedge CMYK 3.0 is printed on. After printing, the media wedge is measured and the test certificate confirming proof quality is printed below the job ticket.
You can only see these additional details if you pull the Roll-Up out of the cassette slightly further than necessary. When you set up the Roll-Up normally, this information is not visible.
Our Roll-Up print is ideally designed for indoor use, moisture and a few drops of water cannot harm it because the pigment colours can also be used for short-term outdoor use. However, the print is not laminated and our mechanisms are also not suitable for outdoor use in wind and weather.

We use a satin-white microporous-coated PET film made of polyester with a light-opaque, grey anti-static backing for the colour-compliant Roll-Ups.
The Roll-Up film is suitable for extremely high-resolution print images. Due to its good stiffness and strength, the robust film offers excellent flatness even under various climatic conditions and is therefore very easy to use. It is dimensionally stable, tear-resistant and light-opaque.
The satin-white coating provides very good colour reproduction and enables previously unknown photographic qualities in combination with our Ultrachrome HDX pigment inks from Epson. The high-quality satin finish minimises disturbing reflections.

Most customers send us PDF data. We accept PDF, EPS, TIF and JPEG files for proofing.
Black and white, CMYK or files with Pantone and HKS special colours. PDF files in PDF/X-1a, PDF/X-3 or PDF/X-4 format are optimal for proofing.
PDF/X-1a (widely used outside Europe) and PDF/X-3 are traditionally PDF files optimised for printing. These ISO standards ensure, for example, that fonts and images are embedded. They are recognised and desired by most printing companies as standard for the exchange of print data.
PDF/X-4 is the new printing standard for PDF files. In contrast to PDF/X-3, PDF/X-4 files can contain transparencies. PDF/X-3 was also already a medium-neutral standard, but 99% of all X-3 files contain only CMYK colours and special colours. PDF/X-4 is still rarely, but increasingly demanded by printing companies because with X-4 data, separation can be placed in the process chain as late as possible. The standard offers many advantages, but also risks.
Proof GmbH is the only company in Germany certified by PDFX-ready for proof output of PDF/X-4 files and has been a member of PDFX-ready for several years.
If you want to know exactly about the advantages and disadvantages of the respective formats, we recommend the PDFX-ready pages. Here you will find all information, guides for PDF creation and Acrobat creation and Acrobat test profiles for PDF/X-4 files.

All three PDF/X standards can be selected and created when exporting in all common layout programmes.

Each file can be up to 2 GB in size.
For example: You order 10 in DIN A3 format and 2 in DIN A2 format. After completing your order, you can upload one file with 10 pages in DIN A3 format for the DIN A3 format and two files, each with one page, for the two in DIN A2 format. If we should produce multiple copies of something, please let us know in the item message for the article.

Modern proofing systems can reproduce special colours such as HKS or Pantone very well. With the Fiery XF 6.5.2 proofing software and the Epson SureColor-P9000V Spectro proof printer, we have determined the colour deviation in Delta-E00 with which the various PANTONE and HKS colours can be matched on our Roll-Up film.
The colour deviations were calculated by the proofing software based on the measured colour space of the proof system from proof.de. Deviations are therefore possible in practice. However, it shows that almost all special colours can be simulated reasonably well in the large colour space of the proofing device.
The smaller the ∆E00 value, the smaller the colour distance from the special colour reference to the printed colour. Higher ∆E values show which colours cannot be reproduced as well in printing.
As a rough guide: From ∆E00 > 1, a colour difference is visible to the human eye, below that it can only be measured but not seen.
