Colour Temperature Indicator
The colours of modern digital proofs are highly dependent on the light source used (metamerism). Therefore, it is important that proofs and prints are always assessed under D50 standard light (5000 Kelvin). If you use a light source with incorrect colour temperature, the colours shift and assessment makes no sense. With the colour temperature indicator, it is easy to determine whether the light source corresponds to standard light and whether colour assessment is permissible.
With a standard colour temperature of 5000 K, all surfaces display the same olive colour. If the colour temperature deviates, clear colour differences appear. The light is therefore not suitable according to ISO 3664 for colour assessment of proofs and prints.
