Our roll-ups are printed in proof quality with EPSON Ultrachrome HDX inks on the printing system with the most precise colour reproduction on the entire printer market. In addition to cyan, magenta, yellow and black, the printing system has three additional colours – orange, green and violet – which enable an enormous colour range, for example for Pantone or HKS colours on the roll-up. Your print data is ripped on the most modern Fiery XF systems and processed including special colours, overprinting, trapping, etc. Our colour management system processes CMYK, RGB, greyscale and LAB colour spaces exactly as with a proof and passes the data to our printers at the highest print quality. The colour rendering on the roll-up corresponds exactly to your ordered colour space; you can place our roll-up in ISOCoatedV2 with two PANTONE special colours directly next to your 6-colour printed image brochure and will have a precise colour match. This makes our roll-ups perfect for demanding designs and photographs or for the representation of special colours.
Our roll-up print is approximately 30 centimetres longer than the actual roll-up design. Below the design is a 10 cm high white area; below that you will normally find the job ticket rolled up invisibly in the cassette with important information about the print and print data, RIP, printer, rendering intent and the printing profiles used. The UGRA-Fogra media wedge CMYK 3.0 is also printed. After printing, the media wedge is measured and the test certificate confirming the proof quality is printed below the job ticket.
You can only see these additional details if you pull the roll-up out of the cassette further than necessary. When you set up the roll-up normally, this information is not visible.
Our roll-up print is optimally designed for indoor use; moisture and a few water droplets won't harm it, as the pigment inks can also be used for short-term outdoor applications. However, the print is not laminated, and our mechanisms are also not suitable for outdoor use in wind and weather.

We use a satin-white microporous-coated PET film made of polyester with an opaque grey antistatic back side for colour-accurate roll-ups.
The roll-up film is suitable for extremely high-resolution print images. Due to its good stiffness and strength, the resistant film offers excellent flatness even under various climatic conditions and is therefore very easy to use. It is dimensionally stable, tear-resistant and opaque.
The satin-white coating provides excellent colour reproduction and enables previously unknown photographic quality in combination with our Ultrachrome HDX pigment inks from Epson. The high-quality satin surface minimises annoying reflections.

Most customers send us PDF data. We accept PDF, EPS, TIF and JPEG files for proofs.
Black and white, CMYK or files with Pantone and HKS special colours. PDF files in PDF/X-1a, PDF/X-3 or PDF/X-4 format are optimal for proofing.
PDF/X-1a (widely used outside Europe) and PDF/X-3 are traditionally print-optimised PDF files. These ISO standards ensure, for example, that fonts and images are embedded. They are recognised and required as standard for print data exchange at most print shops.
PDF/X-4 is the new print standard for PDF files. In contrast to PDF/X-3, PDF/X-4 files can contain transparencies. PDF/X-3 was also already a media-neutral standard, but 99% of all X-3 files contain only CMYK colours and special colours. PDF/X-4 is still rarely, but increasingly requested by print shops, as with X-4 data the separation can be placed as late as possible in the process chain. The standard offers many advantages, but also risks.
Proof GmbH is the only company in Germany certified by PDFX-ready for proof output of PDF/X-4 files and has been a member of PDFX-ready for several years.
If you want to know exactly about the advantages and disadvantages of each format, we recommend the PDFX-ready website. Here you will find all information, guides for PDF creation and Acrobat creation and Acrobat test profiles for PDF/X-4 files.

Each file can be up to 2 GB in size.
For example: you order 10 in DIN A3 format and 2 in DIN A2 format. After completing your order, you can upload a file with 10 pages in DIN A3 format for the DIN A3 format and two files with one page each in DIN A2 format for the two in DIN A2 format. If we are to make multiple copies, please let us know this in the item message.

Matthias Betz and the Proof.de team
Modern proof systems can reproduce special colours such as HKS or Pantone very well. With the Fiery XF 6.5.2 proof software and the Epson SureColor-P9000V Spectro proof printer, we have evaluated the colour deviation in Delta-E00 with which the various PANTONE and HKS colours can be achieved on our roll-up film.
The colour deviations were calculated by the proof software based on the measured colour space of the proof system from proof.de. Deviations are therefore possible in practice. However, it is shown that almost all special colours can be simulated quite well in the large colour space of the proof device.
The smaller the ∆E00 value, the smaller the colour distance from the special colour reference to the printed colour. Higher ∆E values indicate which colours cannot be reproduced as well in printing.
As a rough guideline: from ∆E00 > 1 a colour difference is visible to the human eye, below that it can only be measured but not seen.
