On request, we create individual proof profiles based on a classic proof standard with a paper white adapted to your production paper.
If you frequently print on a special edition paper that differs more from the standard paper white of a classic proof standard, it may be worthwhile to create an individual proofing profile adapted to your paper white in order to achieve a better visual match between the proof and the final print.
Negative:
Do you have any questions? We will be happy to advise you whether it would be worthwhile to create an individual profile from our point of view.
If you frequently print on a special edition paper that differs more from the standard paper white of a classic proof standard, it may be worthwhile to create an individual proofing profile adapted to your paper white in order to achieve a better visual match between the proof and the final print.
Typical areas of application for such individual proof profiles are:
- You print on a optical-brightener-free recycled uncoated paper that is greyer than the paper white of PSOUncoated / Fogra47.
- You print on a slightly cream-coloured coated printing paper, which always makes your motifs look a little warmer than you put them on in the retouch in ISOCoatedV2.
- You are using an optically brightened stationery that looks even whiter than PSOUncoatedV3 / Fogra52.
This adaptation has many advantages, but also some disadvantages:
Positive:- You receive a proof adapted to your production paper that simulates the deviations by using more yellowish, bluish or greyish production paper
- The adaptation is uncomplicated and requires only a one-time effort for the calculation and implementation of the adapted colour profile in our proofing system
- You only incur one-time costs for the creation, for all subsequent proofing orders only the standard proofing costs are incurred
Negative:
- The new profile was only "calculated" by an intelligent software, so it is not based on numerous measurements of thousands of anchor points like a classic proof profile.
- The new profile is no longer "colourbinding and legally binding" like classic ISO or PSO profiles, but merely a "inhouse standard" that can fit perfectly - or not ...
- The new profile can only be used for proof printing, not for separation, as it can only be used absolutely colorimetrically
- In many cases a media wedge with valid test report can be generated on the basis of the reference values of the profile, but not always
