Color Temperature Indicator

The colors of modern Digital Proofs are strongly dependent on the surrounding Light (Metamerism). Therefore it is important, that proofs and prints are always viewed under D50 Normlight with a Color Temperature of 5000 Kelvin. Using another light source with wrong color temperature or wrong spectral values, an assessment makes no sense. With the color temperature indicator can be easily detected if the light source is the standard D50 light, and wether an color judgement is correct.

Viewed in a standard color temperature of 5000 Kelvin, all surfaces have the same olive color. If the color temperature differs, the indicator shows visible color differences. In that case, the light is in accordance with ISO 3664 not suitable for color evaluation of proofs and prints.
